2022 Admiral Arleigh Burke Banquet

Please plan to attend our annual banquet in honor of Admiral Arleigh Burke, who was born in the Boulder area. The dinner will be held on Friday, September 9th, at the University Club of Denver.  

We are privledged to have two exceptional speakers at this year's banquet whose experiences and insights from decades of service with the CIA are particularly relevant to current world events.  

John Massie (USNA '71) retired from the CIA in 2002 after 20 years of service as an Operations Officer, specializing in Counterproliferation and Counterterrorism, and nearly 30 years of combined Federal Service. He completed his ClA career as the Chief of Special Operations in the Counterterrorism Center. John also served five years as a Naval Officer, qualifying as a nuclear engineer and serving aboard USS Bainbridge (CGN-25), including two tours in the Western Pacific during the Vietnam War.

Douglas H. Wise retired from the CIA in August 2016 after nearly three decades of service, finishing his career as the Deputy Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. During his nearly 30 years of service, he led several of the Agency's most important components at ClA Headquarters and served four times as a Chief of Station, including a tour as a Chief of Station in Baghdad. He was also the CIA's Chief of Operational Training and ran one of the CIA's largest covert action programs.

The banquet starts with cocktails (cash bar) at 18:00 followed by dinner (including wine) at 19:00.  The attire is coat & tie. 

Tickets go on sale on Friday, 5 August and are $85 for Chapter members, USNA Colorado Parent's Club members and their guests and $95 for non-members and their guests.

While the presentation at this event will be unclassified, attendance is limited to U.S. Citizens.
